Lifeguards

We currently have vacancies for full time and part time lifeguards.

Full NPLQ training will be provided to the right candidate.  Please note the basic swim test you will be asked to complete in interview is 100M swim on the front immediately followed by a 100M swim on the back and a requirement to swim down to a depth of 3.5M. If you cannot undertake this swim test do not apply.

They will have undertaken or be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS Criminal Records Check and Child Protection Training.

Essential Skills: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification & high customer service standards

Desirable Skills: First Aid at Work qualified, experience in the leisure industry, have an understanding of health and safety.

Salary: £11.25 per hour

Gymnastics Instructor

Contract Type: Please note we are currently recruiting for a Saturday gymnastics coach so you much be available to work this day. Cover work on other days will also be available from time to time.

Purpose of Job

Teach Gymnastics to children aged between 4 and 12 years old in 45mins lessons.

Principal Duties

  • Teaching gymnastics skills in a safe and profession way that children will understand.

  • Ensuring the children have a safe and fun environment to learn in.

  • Run engaging and interesting sessions.

  • Ensure the children remain safe throughout the lesson.

  • Assess pupil’s ability and improvements. Be able to recognise which class each pupil would be best suited to.

  • Clean the equipment after each session ensuring it is ready for the start of the next one.

 

Preferred Qualification Level

  • Activity Instructor Qualification

  • Any Gymnastics Coaching Qualification

 

Preferred Experience Level

  • Coached gymnastics classes previously

  • Experience in gymnastics

Gym Instructor

Contract Type: Part Time up to 22 hours

Purpose of Job:

  • Be approachable, friendly, communicative and actively engaging with members.

  • Lead, instruct and motivate individuals and gym based groups exercise activities.

 

Principal Duties:

  • Actively engaging with members on the gym floor.

  • Planning and delivering inductions, health & fitness assessments, programme cards and short gym floor classes.

  • Demonstrating the correct way to use gym equipment and individual exercise routines; monitor any misuse of the equipment and correct individual’s techniques or posture.

  • Ensuring the gym, studio, sports hall are clean and free of health and safety hazards including the gym’s changing rooms.

  • Completing daily, monthly and quarterly maintenance and cleaning checks.

  • Helping with gym membership retention through participation in H&F events and other H&F based activities on the gym floor.

  • Helping driving new member’s sales initiatives through knowing the company’s product and current offers.

Duty Manager

Purpose of Job

To lead, manage and be responsible for the day to day operation of the facilities in and around a leisure centre site within a demanding commercial environment. Support, manage and develop a team of Lifeguards and Supervisors across the site, and assist the Operations Manager.

The post holder will be required to consistently provide on a pre-planned, ad-hoc, breakdown and reactive basis.

Principal Duties

  • Inspect and monitor the facility throughout the day in accordance with the procedures and deploy staff as required.

  • Lead, direct and motivate the operational team to ensure a quality service delivery.

  • Provide information, instruction, induction and training to operational staff to ensure they fulfil their roles in an efficient and safe manner.

  • Control and manage events such as accidents and emergencies.

  • Maintain a high profile throughout the facility and respond positively to customer needs, expectations and comments.

  • Undertake cash and transaction reconciliation and ensure cash security is maintained and

  • Ensure all financial procedures are complied with.

  • Undertake appropriate HR responsibilities and actions as required by the business.

  • Ensure the absence management policy is effectively applied at all times.

  • Attend training sessions on and off site, in order to demonstrate competency and maintain a valid qualification.

  • Attend meetings on and off site as required by the business.

  • Confidence and the ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Excellent time management and personal organisation skills.

  • Make sure that a thorough rota is in place to ensure that the correct amount of staff are working for to achieve operational excellence.

  • Ensure that the staffing requirements are within the budget

  • Manage and lead on all aspects of cleaning including budgeting, stock control and quality standard.

  • Obtain the ability to work in all areas of the business to relieve pinch points and help grow the business.

 

Qualification Level

  • Royal Lifesaving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) (desirable)

  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate or equivalent (desirable)

  • Level 3 Qualification in a relevant discipline (desirable)

 

Experience Level

  • Experience of facility management at a supervisory level and confidence in applying management systems.

  • Working knowledge of health & safety at work legislation and its practical application.

  • Some experience in leisure or a service led background.
