Café Assistant

Contract Type: Full Time

Description: This position will require you to be over the age of 18 years due to the nature of the tasks undertaken. You will preferably have an interest in cooking, have a good understanding of food hygiene procedures, and possess good customer service skills.  Responsibilities will be assisting with the preparation of food and beverages, ensuring good hygiene levels are maintained and ensuring good levels of customer service are always provided. Cafe Assistants will be required to replenish stock, ensuring good rotation, maintain equipment of regularly used items, such as coffee makers, iced drinks makers and milk coolers. Cafe Assistants will also need to operate a computerised cash register & PDQ machines to take payments from customer and ensure accurate financial procedures are adhered to. Other duties are likely to include washing-up equipment and utensils. Cafe Assistants also need to be attentive to customer requests and adept at taking and recalling orders accurately. The capacity to work well within a team is also essential because assistants need to work closely with co-workers to speedily fulfill and service customer orders. Cafe Assistants will need to clean down the kitchen area at the end of the day as well as prepare the cafe for the next day.

Essential Skills: Friendly, polite and helpful to customers. Focused on customer service. Able to work well in a busy environment and keep calm under pressure. A good communicator. Aware of food safety. Good at working in a team. Able to do basic maths for taking payments.

Desirable Skills: First Aid at Work qualified, experience in the leisure industry, have a good understanding of food safety.

Technical Manager

The Technical Manager is responsible for the delivery of cyclic internal and external planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance both hands on and works carried out by approved maintenance specialist works providers. You will ensure; excellent maintenance standards are achieved at every opportunity, maintain utility data using inhouse software/spreadsheet systems and ensure that building service systems, associated items of plant, equipment and control systems are set and operated to an optimum to facilitate excellent customer comfort levels.

Principal Duties

To undertake cyclic planned preventative maintenance and service works on a hands-on basis to satisfy those requirements as set out in the council’s technical policies & procedures including; inspection, maintenance, service asset management plan and recording.

  • To co-ordinate and have undertaken by approved term maintenance specialist works providers, cyclic maintenance and service works on a contract appointment basis to satisfy those requirements as set out in the council’s technical policies & procedures, ensuring that records are populated and maintained accordingly.

  • To co-ordinate cyclic technical checks and record as set out in the council’s technical policies & procedures.

  • To co-ordinate Inspection, cleaning and lubrication of systems parts, monitoring of water quality and minor adjustment of water treatment system equipment associated with Swimming Pool Water Systems

  • To co-ordinate and undertake reactive maintenance, service and repair works on a hands-on basis or works carried out by approved maintenance specialist works providers to satisfy those requirements of building preservation and customer satisfaction.

  • To assist and support the site based Management Team in respect to any reasonable technical request.

  • To manage and co-ordinate the Repairs and Maintenance reporting system in accordance with agreed procedures. Respond appropriately to all reactive maintenance issues in accordance with the agreed priority rating system and with minimum disruption to facilities.

  • To be part of the ‘On-Call’ emergency response team as required.

  • To advise the Operations Manager in respect of relevant health and safety environmental issues

  • To ensure that building service systems, associated items of plant, equipment and control systems are set and operated to an optimum to facilitate (for example, not exhaustive):

  • Excellent customer comfort levels.

  • A match with the site facilities published customer activity programme.

  • Longevity of asset condition and operational availability.

  • Energy consumption is restricted to an absolute minimum and is without waste

  • To manage onsite technical team.

  • Responsibilty for the control of associated repair and maintenance budgets.

Qualification Level

The post holder will be qualified to and be able to demonstrate by the provision of authenticated and bonefide certification and training records, the following standards:

  • Pool Plant Operators certification

  • Craft Skills

 

Experience Level

The post holder shall be able to demonstrate a level of experience and knowledge commensurate with the post and which sets out that they possess a minimum experience in plant maintenance and operations in the building and leisure services sector.

 

Essential Skills

The post holder shall be able to demonstrate by formal means (be they evidenced via reference or training records), a level of skill commensurate with the post in respect to:

  • A thorough and in-depth knowledge of health, safety and welfare procedures (relevant to the post being applied for).

  • A thorough and in-depth knowledge of quality procedures (relevant to the post being applied for).

  • A thorough and in-depth knowledge of customer care procedures (relevant to the post being applied for).

  • Excellent hands-on skill and ability.

  • Adequate skill and competency in the effective use of computer aided systems.

  • Relevant previous experience and work record and report writing.

Swimming Instructors

 

Contract Type: Part Time Casual

Description: We are looking for swimming teachers to join our team at The Sovereign Centre.

Essential Skills: Level 2 swimming teacher qualification or equivalent.  At least 6 months proven swimming teaching experience within a swim school background.  Have undertaken or be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS Criminal Records Check and Child Protection Training.

Desirable Skills: Knowledge of the national governing body professional swimming standards and the national plan/curriculum standards for teaching.  A current rescue Test Award for swimming teachers.

Receptionist

Contract Type: Casual must be flexible for morning, evening and weekend availability

 

Description: We are currently looking for casual reception cover for our busy Leisure Centre. You will be flexible, reliable, possess good communication skills, promote excellent customer service and enjoy working as part of a team.  The successful candidate will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

 

Essential Skills: Candidates will be able to demonstrate competency of working in an administrative role and be capable of following financial procedures and policies. Candidates will also demonstrate capability of cash handling and dealing with customer relations.
